Whatever subject we study, we must be able to apply it. If we study but cannot use what we've learned, then why study at all? It's a waste of time — and a waste of the rice we've eaten

 

To study any subject, one must be able to apply it—rely on it, and make practical use of it. Just like the subject we’re studying today, we must study it earnestly and put it into practice. We must rely on this knowledge we are learning and make it truly sacred and effective

If the teacher can apply it, then we must be able to apply it too. This is what is called a person of wisdom—this is what is called an intelligent person
